Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant, brightens skin tone, and reduces signs of aging. In its pure form, vitamin C is unstable in water. The Ordinary's ASCORBYL GLUCOSIDE SOLUTION is a water-soluble derivative of vitamin C. It is much more stable in water but less potent than pure L-ascorbic acid.
Being more water-compatible allows for a more pleasant serum texture.
It is considered a gold standard of vitamin C derivatives due to its high stability and convenient use, but it is impossible to achieve extremely high potency of L-ascorbic acid with this solution.
